Derailed: Loral Golden Ale

The Story

“Belgian beer is delicious, but sadly a lot of it has lost hop character over time due to changing consumer preferences. With that in mind, I wanted to make a really dry, more bitter Belgian-inspired beer with lots of yeast character and a newer hop variety. Also lemon verbena. This is that beer. Think Duvel, with a little extra malt and a lot more hops. The hop variety used is called Loral, which combines 'Old World' noble characteristics with 'American hop' citrus notes.”
